Kathy Nadalin & Agnes Leslie

2009
Service Award

The 2009 Jeanne Clarke Local History Award for service is presented to Kathy Nadalin and Agnes Leslie for their work on writing, editing and compiling a book of memoirs of the members of the Elders Citizen Recreation Association. Kathy and Agnes spent many hours of volunteer time coaxing stories out of the ECRA members and sorting, typing and editing the results of the submissions and interviews. Their two years of hard work resulted in The Book: Memoirs of our Members which includes short biographies of approximately 60 of our local Prince George seniors. Many of the stories give a unique glimpse into the early days of Prince George and the pioneering spirit of those who worked to make our City the thriving community that it is today.

Agnes Leslie and Kathy Nadalin are both active members of The Elder Citizens Recreation Association. The project was conceived as a fundraiser for ECRA and was supported by a grant from the Prince George Community Foundation.
