2017
Service Award

The partners on the Prince George Newspapers Digitization Project were honoured with the Jeanne Clarke Award for Service. The partners, including the Prince George Public Library, Prince George Citizen, College of New Caledonia, University of Northern BC, Irving K. Barber Learning Centre and the Friends of the Prince George Public Library, have worked together for nearly a decade to digitize 100 years of the Prince George Citizen. The digitized and searchable newspaper database holds issues of the Citizen dating back to May 17, 1916, and is a deeply valuable resource for researchers and citizens alike.
