What to Expect:
● Takes place indoors in a comfortable space
● The lighting is adjustable and will likely be dimmed
● Accessible and all-gender washrooms are available nearby
● People reading poetry with a mic one at a time
● Patrons can sit in comfortable chairs or stand
It's important that our programs are accessible for everyone. We offer sensory materials for youth including wiggle cushions, ear defenders, and fidget toys at the main service desk—you do not need a library card.

An Introduction to Performance Poetry

By the end of this workshop, you will be familiar with several different types of written and spoken poetry as well as delivery techniques. You will have some of the tools you need to explore this art form on your own!
