Located on the main level, this initiative seeks to transform the currently underused space into a vibrant and versatile area that accommodates a wide range of activities such as community gatherings, art exhibitions, and quiet relaxation spots.

Who is funding the 'All Hands on Deck' initiative?
This is a multi-year project, supported by the City of Prince George. The library board is undertaking a fundraising campaign aimed at further enhancing the project to create a truly exceptional community space.
What types of activities or features are being considered for the deck?
We are considering a range of activities and features, including but not limited to, community gatherings, art and cultural displays, children’s play areas, quiet reading and study zones, and green spaces. We encourage you to share any additional ideas you have through the survey or at the open house.
Will there be opportunities to rent the deck for private events?
We are exploring the possibility of renting the deck for private and corporate events as a way to generate funds for library services. We are considering different pricing categories for non-profits and private entities.
How will the feedback collected from the community be used?
All feedback will be carefully analyzed by the Library Advancement Committee to guide the design and functionality of the deck. The community's input will directly influence the final decisions to ensure the space meets the collective vision and needs of our patrons.
When will the renovations or transformations begin?
The transformation is part of a multi-year initiative. While specific start dates are yet to be confirmed, progress is ongoing behind the scenes to lay the groundwork for future phases.
How can I participate in the 'All Hands on Deck' initiative?
There are three ways to participate:
1. Open House: Join us at the library on April 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM to share your ideas in person.
2. Online Survey: If you cannot attend in person, you can still contribute by completing our online survey, available until June 13.
3. Feedback at the Library: There will be designated stations at the library to leave your written feedback from now until June 13.
