Adult Summer Challenge Kickoff

Phase 3 of the plan to resume library services has now been launched. Due to COVID-19, the Bob Harkins Branch (downtown) is open for limited service Tuesday-Friday 10 am-6 pm, Saturday 10 am-2 pm. The Nechako Branch (Hart) is open Monday-Thursday 10 am-6 pm, Friday 10 am-2 pm.

Explore our community, read from a variety of diverse genres, attend virtual programs and win prizes with this year's Adult Summer Challenge!

Reading Challenge (1 ballot each):
• Read a book that has won a prize
• Read a digital book from one of our online databases
• Listen to a book on CD or a digital audiobook
• Read a book or an article about anti-racism
• Read a graphic novel or manga
• Read a book by an Indigenous author in Canada
• Read a biography
• Read a paperback romance novel
• Read a flash fiction story
• Read poetry to another person or an animal

Community Challenges (1 ballot each):
• Go on a self-guided local history tour of the downtown
• Perform a random act of kindness or give a care package to a friend or family member
• View five murals or art sculptures in Prince George
• Support local tourism such as a Northern Routes Location
• Find ten houses with hearts displayed from the Hearts of PG movement
• Use the curbside pick-up at the Nechako or Bob Harkins Branch
• Visit a park located in the Hart
• Donate to or volunteer with a community group
• Pick up litter in your neighborhood
• Listen to a local radio station

Activity Challenges (1 ballot each)
• Go on a picnic
• Register for a GALE course through the PGPL website
• Design or make a mask
• Go birding
• Try a new recipe from a library cookbook
• Do yoga
• Write a haiku or poem
• Complete a jigsaw puzzle
• Go on a virtual walk-through of a famous museum or location
• Grow a plant from a seed or cutting
