Master Minds- Cannabis and Cognition: How Marijuana Affects How We Think

Cannabis use is rapidly increasing in Canada, and research is beginning to explore some long-term health effects of cannabis use. But how often do we consider the effect of cannabis on how we think? Many people who use cannabis feel like it affects their thoughts and how they see the world, but little research has scientifically explored these reports. Exactly how does cannabis shape our thoughts? In what ways does it affect our brain activity? What are the physical processes that happen in the brain? And more broadly, does cannabis alter the way we understand and associate information available to us in the environment? I think these are exciting and important questions. My research aims to explore how cannabis intoxication affects the brain's cognitive processes.
