Bernard McKay was presented with the Jeanne Clarke Publication Award in 2004. A local trapper, river-boater, and guide, Bernard wrote two local history books. Crooked River Rats and Wild Trails, Wild Tales highlight the colourful and interesting history of the Crooked River area.
