Prince George Council Of Seniors

2011
Publication Award

The 2011 award in the publication category goes to the Prince George Council of Seniors for their book Life Before The Pulp Mills. This book chronicles the experiences of the early pioneers who settled the city before the pulp mills arrived in the 1960s and transformed Prince George forever.

Kathy Plett, CNC's library director, wrote in her nomination - "This book is truly uplifting. There are so many wonderful stories in it and in many cases, stories that have not been told yet."

Sharon Hurd, president of the Prince George Council of Seniors, accepted the award from library board chair Philip Mantler.
