Master Minds: Exploring Identity Through the Relationship with Compassion and Quiet Ego

The Bob Harkins Branch will be closed all day on Monday, September 22, and Tuesday, September 23, 2025 while crews tackle some much needed roof repairs. This includes the book drops which will also be unavailable during this time.

Individuals have many qualities which define who they are. Identity has become an all-encompassing term, used to describe the characteristics of an individual, and how they process incoming information. Although the concept of identity has been around for a century, it's relationship to other constructs continues to be explored to gain further clarity. My research delves into identity's relationship with positive psychology concepts, including the compassion one has for others and the self, in addition to the novel concept of quiet ego. Examining these concepts can create a foundation to work towards growth, reflection, and mindfulness.
