Clone of Tour Request Form

This form is for use by teachers, educators, recreation workers, and other group facilitators who would like to arrange a library tour or visit for their class/clients.

Please note that all library tours and visits are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. While we do our best to accommodate all requests, our capacity is limited. Tour groups may be required to meet certain minimum/maximum participant numbers to be eligible for certain tour/visit types.

Bookings require at least 2 weeks' notice. There is no cost for library tours or visits.

You will receive an email response from a library staff member within 2 business days. Please do not schedule transportation or make any other arrangements until you have received confirmation of your date and time.

Youth Tour

Important information about Youth Tours:
Minimum participants (excludes caregivers): 5
Maximum participants (excludes caregivers): 30
Lunch/snack space may be provided upon request.
Group facilitators are responsible for ensuring that there is a sufficient number of adult supervisors present to meet their group's needs at all times. Library staff are unable to provide supervision/childcare services.

All tours are 1 hour in length and will include:
- Storytime (Ages 0-8) or book talk (age 9-18) led by library staff (20 mins)
- Guided tour (20 mins)
- Library card distribution and book checkout (20 mins) - If we do not receive library card applications from your class a minimum 1 week before your scheduled tour, we will provide activity stations instead.

Teachers/Group facilitators are welcome to suggest specific topics/themes/services they would like library staff to highlight for their class/clients.

Tours at the Nechako Branch will include only a branch tour and library card registration option. For storytimes, book talks, and activity stations, please book at the Bob Harkins Branch.

Youth Visit

Important Information about Youth Visits:
Minimum number of participants (schools only): 3 classes OR 60 students
Minimum number of participants (other sites): 10 individuals
Maximum number of participants: none
Visits must be hosted in an appropriate community venue such as a school, youth center, or recreation organization. We are unable to visit private residences.

Visits are of variable length and may include:
- Storytime (Ages 0-8), book talk (age 9-18), or library presentation (age 13-18) led by library staff (30 mins)
- Library card distribution or registration (age 13-18 only; may not be available for all tours)
- Activity
- Library information packages

Teachers/Group facilitators are welcome to suggest specific topics/themes/services they would like library staff to highlight for their class/clients.

Adult Tour

Important Information about Adult Tours
Minimum number of participants: 5
Maximum number of participants: 50
Adult tours are available at the Bob Harkins (downtown) library branch only.

Tours are of variable length and may include:
- Book talk or library presentation led by library staff (20 mins)
- Guided Tour (20 mins)
- Library card registration & book checkout OR activity (20 mins)

Group facilitators are welcome to suggest specific topics/themes/services they would like library staff to highlight for their class/clients.

Adult Visit

Important information about Adult Visits:
Minimum number of participants: 5
Maximum number of participants: none
Visits must be hosted in an appropriate community venue such as a health care facility, community hall, education center, care home, or a communal space in a multi-housing unit. We are unable to visit private residences.

Visits are of variable length and may include:
- Book talk or library presentation led by library staff (30 mins)
- Library card registration (may not be available for all tours)
- Activity
- Library information packages

Group facilitators are welcome to suggest specific topics/themes/services they would like library staff to highlight for their class/clients.
