Information For Evacuees in Prince George

The Prince George Public Library welcomes all those who have been temporarily relocated to Prince George because of the wildfires in the region. Evacuees and residents wishing to volunteer or donate in support of those in need are directed to visit the City of Prince George website for the latest information.

The City of Prince George is coordinating the city's emergency response efforts, including information regarding where evacuees are to go when they arrive in Prince George, registration information for the Canadian Red Cross, as well as information on how Prince George residents can help.

Free Library Services, Resources, and Events for Visitors

If you have been evacuated from your home due to the wildfires, the library provides free access to programs for all ages, books and other collections, internet connectivity, technology assistance, and more. Call us at 250-563-9251 or visit one of our branches for further information!

Access the Internet

The Prince George Public Library offers free internet access to all visitors to the library. For those with their own mobile devices, the library's unlimited wireless access is available to anyone visiting either branch of the library. In addition, there are Internet Computer stations available for up to 2 hours of use per day. Just visit the library checkout desk on the main floor of either branch to find out more about accessing the internet at the library.

Borrow Library Materials

You don't have to live in Prince George to get a library card! Apply online right now using your hometown address. You will receive a temporary card number and PIN that permits immediate access our large collection of Online Resources, including downloadable ebooks and audiobooks, streaming tv & movies, newspapers, and magazines.

Within 30 days of your online application submission, bring one piece of personal identification with your home address to the library checkout desk, and we'll issue a library card that provides full access to all of our collections and services! Attend Library Programs & Events

Join us at the library for fun events for all ages!

  • Dr. Tech By Appointment Wednesdays 2:00-4:00 pm until August 22nd, get technical assistance with your computer, phone, e-reader or other device. Phone us at 250-563-9251 ext. 141 to book your 30 minute appointment.
  • Downtown Walking Tour Until August 23rd, join us Tuesdays & Thursdays at 11:00 am in the main lobby of the Bob Harkins Branch of the library for a guided tour that will explore downtown Prince George's fascinating historic sites (all ages).
