HIV 101

The week of November 24 to December 1 marks Canadian HIV/AIDS Awareness Week.

Positive Living North's HIV 101 workshops provide a safe, stigma-free space to learn the facts about HIV. We explore what HIV and AIDS are, how HIV is transmitted, and the realities of treatment today—including the life-changing truth of U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable). We also address common myths, testing options, prevention tools like PrEP and PEP, and the social impacts of HIV such as stigma and discrimination. Rooted in cultural safety and community care, Positive Living North's sessions highlight local and national statistics, Indigenous perspectives, and practical tools for safer sexual health.
