The Language of Flowers

Flowers have been used to send coded messages in many parts of the world for centuries! In this program, you'll learn how to use the Language of Flowers to express feelings, ideas or intentions.

Tell someone you'd like to be their friend with a bouquet of yellow roses, but if you're feeling anger or resentment a bunch of thistle may be more appropriate. Once you've decided on what you want to say, use a variety of arts and craft supplies to paint, draw, or cut-and-paste your own floral coded message to take home!

ISSofBC’s Career Programs

Join the Immigrant Services Society of BC and learn about two of their programs: Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants and Gateway to Hospitality and Tourism.

Career Paths
If you’re a skilled immigrant professional looking for a job in British Columbia, this program is for you! Career Paths is here to support you in connecting your international experience and skills with job opportunities in Canada. Whether you’re in construction, engineering, technology, or have a regulated or unregulated profession in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, or Cariboo North, we’re dedicated to making your transition to a Canadian career as easy as possible. Let us be your partner in navigating the process of finding a job in Canada and making the most of your talents.

Gateway
We can help you develop your career in the tourism and hospitality industry. It can be hard to find hospitality and tourism jobs in Canada being a newcomer and not having experience, credentials, or connections. Our free program helps newcomers to Canada access free fully funded training opportunities to find tourism and hospitality jobs.
