Learn about the legendary Nian Monster and the Chinese New Year traditions which have been passed down over generations in this Chinese Hand Drum Making Workshop & Puppet Show with Speak Write Academy. IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to the new provincial Public Health Order, Gnome for the Holidays is no longer being held as an in-person event. Instead, you can pick up some free gnome crafts for the family! We will providce "take-and-make" craft bags filled with supplies and instructions on how to make your own holiday gnomes! These are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the downtown branch on December 22nd.
Gather round and celebrate the holiday season with your very own gnome! Make a pom-pom gnome, a gnome ornament or enter our gnome colouring competition to win some prizes! It may be cold outside, but it's good to be gnome for the holidays.
