Tens to Teens Summer Challenge 2024

Complete challenges each week between July 2nd and August 16th to earn ballots that will be entered into our weekly prize draws!

You must be between the ages of 10-18 or entering into Grade 5 this September. Each challenge can be completed only once and draw winners must be able to come to a Prince George Public Library branch to pick up their prizes.

Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

Enjoy a gentle introduction to mindfulness meditation, a common technique for reducing stress, enhancing concentration, and fostering well-being.

This program will take place outdoors, in the Knowledge Garden, weather permitting. The garden can be hot and has limited shade. Participants should dress and prepare accordingly. Participants are encouraged to bring a towel, blanket, or cushion to sit upon--some chairs will be provided for those unable to sit on the ground.

Yarn Swap & Knitting Social

The 2024 Great Northwest Fibre Fest and Prince George Library are co-hosting a yarn-swap and fibre-crafting social. Bring in your "It's beautiful, but I know I'll never use it" yarn and swap it for yarn that you will. Bring your knitting, crocheting, tatting, embroidery and visit with other crafters at the cozy knitting social.

Want to drop off your yarn ahead of time? The downtown branch of the library will accept yarn swap items from July 23-26 during open hours at any service desk.
