A Poetry Reading with Al Rempel and Harold Rhenisch

Poets Al Rempel and Harold Rhenisch are touring together to celebrate the release of their latest books of poetry. Rempel's Sprocket is a series breathless prose-poems capturing his childhood adventures spent roaming free in the small farming community of Arnold, BC. Rhenisch's The Salmon Shanties explores memories of people, place and returning home written in couplets that move between English and Chinook Wawa.

Author Talk: Paul Wojdak

Escape from Siberia, Escape from Memory is Paul Wojdak’s first book, a memoir of his father set in a poorly known period of history. His Polish father was born in Siberia and became a child-orphan during the Russian Civil War in 1920. He was rescued to Japan and America before growing up in Poland but as an adult could not explain his childhood journey. Paul used extensive research of archives and orphanage records to uncover his father’s mysterious past. Paul lives on Tyhee Lake near Smithers with his wife Teresa.
