In partnership with Grandmothers to Grandmothers (G2G), join Ruth James, author of Paseka and co-founder of the African Children's Book Box Society, as she discuses her African experiences and how they influence her writing.

Know Your Rights with the BCCLA

Are you interested in activism, and what to learn more about your rights when you attend protests? Have questions about your rights when interacting with the police? This workshop includes information on your rights in police interactions and provides tips on exercising those rights in a safe and legal way. You will learn what to do when police stop you and ask questions on the streets, your rights when police search you, your car, or your home, and your rights when police want to detain or arrest you in various contexts.

Tenant Rights Workshop

Learn your rights as a tenant renting in BC with the Tenant Resource and Advisory Centre. TRAC is a non-profit organization that provides free legal education, representation, and advocacy on residential tenancy matters. A leader in tenants’ rights since 1984, TRAC’s mandate is to enhance legal protections for all tenants living in British Columbia.

TRAC (Tenant Resource & Advisory Centre) will speak about the rights and obligations tenants have under the Law.
